The PKU SEME Lab welcomes students and researchers passionate about exploring the profound questions of Self-Exploration and Meaning Existence, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds.

We open our resources—including lab seminars, group discussions, and collaborative projects—to support individuals interested in social psychology, with the aim of fostering a more inclusive scientific community.

Chenxiao Hao

Chenxiao Hao

Chenxiao received her Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Hunan University and her Master's degree in Psychology from Beijing Normal University. She is interested in broad topics about the social self, including how lay beliefs shape self-awareness and social interactions, how individuals navigate conflicting social roles, and other related questions.
Haichun Zhou

Haichun Zhou

Haichun Zhou is currently a Master's student at Peking University. She joined the SEME lab in Year 2022 and contributed extensively to multiple projects. Notably, she played a key role in a study on nostalgia and online autobiography, where she assisted in extracting, cleaning, coding, and analyzing Weibo data to explore online autobiographical behaviors and their psychological implications. Haichun now is deeply fascinated by topics related to "harmonious coexistence between humans and nature." She explores how emotions shape people's connection with the environment, ultimately fostering lifestyles that benefit both personal well-being and planetary health. Zhengbo Xu

Zhengbo Xu

Zhengbo Xu is currently a Master's student at University of Oxford. He joined the SEME Lab in 2022 as an undergraduate majoring in Computer Science at PKU, seeking to explore his interest in psychology. He made significant contributions to the awe and solitude project, particularly in sentence embedding analysis. His current thesis for Master's Degree is also an interdisciplinary research on behavioral psychology and memory retrieval. Xueting Zhang

Xueting Zhang

Xueting Zhang is currently a Master's student at Peking University. She joined the SEME lab in 2024 and contributed to multiple projects through literature review, data analysis, and group discussions. Her research focuses on positive psychological qualities and workplace mental well-being.
Qihang Zhou

Qihang Zhou

Qihang Zhou is currently a Phd student at Zhejiang University. He joined the SEME lab in 2021 as an undergraduate Mathematics student, drawn by his interest in psychology. This experience in the laboratory provided him with foundational knowledge and practical skills in psychology, establishing a solid basis for his later formal study in the field. He contributed to data collection and literature reviews across several projects. His current research interests focus on working memory and event structure processing, aiming to explore the cognitive processing mechanisms of humans.
Wenjun Bian

Wenjun Bian

Wenjun Bian is currently a Master's student in Psychology at Zhejiang University. She first joined the SEME lab during her undergraduate studies, working as a research assistant under the guidance of doctoral students. Through this experience, she gained hands-on training in social psychological research and developed essential research skills. Although she did not pursue a PhD at the lab, she has maintained close academic ties and continued intellectual exchange with its members. Her current and future research focuses on organizational behavior, particularly in the areas of work-life interface, recovery, and employee well-being.
